Dorothy's Orange Breakfast Drink a.k.a. Homemade Orange Julius

Have you ever looked through old cookbooks only to find recipes labeled with people's names like Mrs. Hewitt's Pickled Peaches?  Well, that's exactly what happened with this recipe.  I couldn't resist giving Dorothy's drink a try one morning.  I wondered how Dorothy decided to come up with a breakfast drink and if her family enjoyed it as much as I do.

Packed with orange flavor and fulfilling, this orange drink is frothy and good.  Reminds me of an orange julius - popular in the 80's along with neon clothing and big hair.  Thank goodness it's the drink that's still around and not the hair or the clothing!

Dorothy's Orange Breakfast Drink
1- 6oz can orange juice concentrate, thawed (if you purchase a larger can you can re-freeze what you don't use in a freezer-safe container)
1 c. water
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
8-10 ice cubes

Combine all ingredients in a blender.  Cover and process until the drink is thick and frothy.  Serve.
