About This Blog

Welcome!  I love simple, seasonal, homemade cooking and this is a journal of recipes I've discovered and/or created that are lovingly made in my little farmhouse kitchen.  What you'll find here is a lot of comfort foods, many with a twist, and all made from scratch.  You'll find slow-cooker and make-ahead meals which will help you get good food on the table mid-week, simple things such as no-bake desserts and one-pot meals in addition to those items requiring a bit more time and prep. This is a collection of the recipes, menus and cooking tips I use on a daily basis.

I'm not a writer, chef, or photographer but, rather, a self-taught cook who strives to feed my family good, homemade meals with real food {read as eggs, butter, cream, etc}.  This is the first year 2011 was the first year that I worked on having a garden large enough to provide the bulk of our veggies.  The garden has inspired me to cook seasonally with fresh items.

If you're new to this site, you may want to start with the recipe index.  You can also have new posts emailed to you.  For a look into our venture into "Real Food", you can read a post I wrote {here}. I write a monthly menu plan as well as grocery shop monthly.  If you'd like to read about this, you can read the original post {here} and the additions/updates {here}.

To find out more about me, you can visit my farm blog, "Life At Cobble Hill Farm".

All information (writing and photos) is protected by copyright.  Everything on this site is photographed, styled and cooked/baked by me unless otherwise noted.  Please feel free to link to my photos or recipes.  If you adapt one of my recipes, please say so and link back to my site.  Photos may be shared, but please link back to the original post when you share it.

I almost always purchase any cookbooks and products featured on this blog myself.  If I don't, I will note that in the review.

I love comments!  Please leave kind-hearted comments and/or constructive criticism (nothing just plain mean).  If you have questions or suggestions, or find a problem with one of the recipes, please feel free to leave a comment or email me at jaynstaci@aol.com.  I will answer any question - please know it may take a day or so for me to get back to you.
